Bio

William "Endlesswill" Davis is quickly becoming a recognized name in Spoken Word Poetry. He was born and raised Grand Rapids, MI and does much of his work in North Carolina. Emeritus Poet Laureate of Hillsborough, 2022 ArtPrize Contemporary Black Artist recipient, Coast 2 Coast Live mixtape winner, four time published author, host, and most importantly a father. As an artist, Endlesswill embraces community and specializes in poetic social critique, introspection, and depth. He uses personal narratives to discuss the politics of race, class, gender and religion. While simultaneously pinpointing and reinforcing the interconnected nature of human existence through poetry.

After months of collaboration and reviewing the nominees, Hillsborough’s new Poet Laureate, William Davis Jr., was appointed June 1 at the Hillsborough Arts Council. Hillsborough Mayor Tom Stevens, Former Poet Laureate Aaron Belz and eight others involved in the selection process came to a conclusion that William was the best candidate.

Endlesswill, 2017-2018 Hillsborough’s Poet Laureate, brings today’s stories to life through powerful music and poetry performances of contemporary artists. Spoken Stories will bring new worlds to the ear through the blending of lyrical hip-hop, R&B, and spoken word performances.

We were able to collaborate with award-winning director and projection designer Francesca Talenti, and with local poet and spoken word artist William “Endlesswill” Davis in our performance of compositions by Carlos Bandera, Joshua Clausen, Ted Hearne, Howie Kenty, Julia Wolfe, and a world premiere of a string quartet by Co-Director Richard Drehoff Jr.
